This summer, I’ve made it a priority to have self-care night once a week. Now that my boys are out from school, claiming time for myself hasn’t been the easiest. But I finally found something I can commit to — one night a week, just me and a soothing face mask. Implementing this self-care ritual into my routine has truly helped me get through these full on weeks of summertime.
My Self-Care Ritual
After I put the kids down for bed, the at home spa night is in full swing. Self-care nights always include a face mask, they are truly the skincare savior. The mask I always reach for is the dōTERRA Spa Detoxifying Mud Mask. This natural clay mask draws out toxins from the face and body, leaving behind beautiful glowing skin! Turn on your diffuser and get cozy while you let the Mud Mask work it’s magic. You only have to leave it on for 3-5 minutes. Trust me, your skin will thank you!
After the mask I follow up with my favorite anti-aging serum and moisturizer. Then I massage doTERRA Serenity oil on the bottoms of my feet and pop two Serenity capsules with two Copaiba softgels to ensure a night of deep REM sleep. To finish the night off, I like to read in bed with my diffuser going and I’m fast asleep.

How to claim time for yourself
It’s not always perfect, sometimes I get interrupted by a kiddo with a bad dream or I’m just too tired to do it all. But having this one staple, the 3 minute beautifying face mask, in my self-care routine ensures that I’m doing something in the week to take care of myself.
This week, I challenge you to claim some time for yourself, that’s right, just for you. Start small, even if it’s just 10 minutes for a face mask, a meditation or a walk with a friend — carve out some time for you. Whatever you like to do that nourishes your soul and leaves you feeling recharged, go for it. Then schedule it in your calendar so you can’t skip it.
You’ve got this friend. Drop your self-care favorites in the comments below. Let’s inspire one another to carve out more time to recharge, it strengthens us.
