Some people call it fate, others might say it was just coincidence. But the second my eyes locked with this guy, my world changed…
One of my favorite things is to close my eyes and take myself back to that moment when we first met.
It all started on top of a snowy mountain in the ski town wonderland of Breckenridge, CO on March 1, 2012. One year prior on March 1, 2011 I had made a list in my journal of what I wanted in a husband.
On March 1, 2012- One year to the date later Brandon walked into my life… and sat on the bar stool beside me. It doesn’t get any more supernatural than that!
He was there for his brother’s bachelor party and I was on a girl’s snowboarding trip checking out CO to move there later that year. Our paths collided in a cozy little wine room called D’Vine on a low key Thursday night.
My stomach flipped the moment I saw Brandon walk in and all I could do was stare at him and smile. After introducing himself, I was relieved to find out that he wasn’t the one getting married.
The next night we danced for four straight hours to 80s music and that was it… Two nights in Breck and two peoples’ lives were changed forever.
Although I played it cool, I was dying to keep in touch but didn’t want to freak him out since we lived 1300 miles apart. I couldn’t keep my mind off of him after leaving Breck. Against all my “rules” of dating, I listened to a friend’s wise advice and gave him a call a week later. Luckily, he was very happy that I called!
We talked for 45 minutes and I was smitten.. The next day Brandon sent me an email. He asked me if I would ever consider moving to Connecticut instead of CO.
It took a lot of guts and I was blown away… I said yes then. And I said yes 6 months later when he got down on his knee and asked
me to marry him! The saying is true.. “When you know, you just know.”
I’m positive that our random meeting at D’Vine on top of a mountain was truly a Divine Encounter:) God’s hand was at work shaping our future and lives as one.
I share my fairytale love story to inspire all the single men and women out there who are still “waiting on the one.” I remember how hard it was living the single life when all I wanted was to be hopelessly in love and start a family.
You cannot force love but here is my advice. One thing I never stopped doing was Believing. It only takes one D’Vine encounter… often when you least expect it, and your life can change forever.
Do NOT lose hope. Get gorgeous on the inside because that is what will truly attract your soulmate to you.
And I’ll be the one believing with you!
Stay true to who you are, work on yourself, do what makes you happy… and NEVER settle for someone who doesn’t make you feel incredibly loved…because you are!
xoxo, Stefanie
